Hannah is a qualified counsellor with lived experience of ADHD and fibromyalgia. She is also a mother to two daughters—one with ADHD and the other with autism—who both faced significant challenges navigating the mainstream school system.

Hannah’s own ADHD diagnosis didn’t come until her late thirties, following 15 years of being misdiagnosed and treated for anxiety and depression. During this time she often felt ignored, dismissed and worthless. This experience ignited her passion for helping others who feel similarly misunderstood and let down by the system.

Hannah understands firsthand how often people are rejected, misdiagnosed and underserved. She is committed to using her training, personal insight and professional expertise to make a meaningful difference in the lives of her clients.

Growing up, Hannah struggled with the school’s rigid structure and social pressures despite doing well academically. The social dynamics of school and college were overwhelming, and she found it difficult to navigate friendships and relationships—challenges she continues to work through today.

At home, her difficulties were either dismissed by her strict father or misunderstood by her overprotective mother. This dynamic, particularly the conflict around her low school attendance, damaged her self-worth significantly.

When her parents divorced, Hannah left school early, entering a period of impulsive and reckless decisions. At just 18, she married young and had two children by the age of 22.

Unfortunately, her marriage was emotionally abusive, and her partner’s constant criticism further eroded her confidence.

Parenting without the knowledge of her own ADHD felt like a constant uphill battle. She frequently experienced burnout, self-medicated with alcohol, and developed disordered eating behaviours.

By her early thirties, she was diagnosed with fibromyalgia after enduring years of chronic pain and fatigue. Hannah felt she was merely existing in a world that didn’t make sense, burdened by deep unhappiness and feelings of failure.

The turning point came after the devastating loss of her best friend to suicide. This tragedy reminded her of life’s fragility and pushed her to seek therapy. Her therapist gently suggested she explore the possibility of ADHD, a discovery that transformed her life.

Over the past five years, Hannah has dedicated herself to rediscovering and rebuilding her self-esteem. She also supported her now-adult children in obtaining their diagnoses of ADHD and autism.

This journey inspired her to pursue a new path focused on helping others navigate similar challenges. In 2020, Hannah began training as a counsellor and has since completed additional training in ADHD and autism.

Combining her lived experience with her professional expertise she provides compassionate and tailored support to her clients. Having divorced her ex-husband, Hannah also brings a unique perspective to helping women recover and heal from abusive relationships, rebuild their lives and develop healthy boundaries.

Hannah is particularly passionate about early intervention in girls and women helping them identify and address ADHD, autism, and co-occurring conditions before years of misdiagnosis or undiagnosed challenges take a toll on their self-esteem.

She loves helping clients who are coming to terms with a late-life diagnoses of ADHD or autism, guiding them through the process of relearning and self-discovery.

She also specialises in working with women recovering from abusive marriages or relationships, helping them reclaim their sense of self and build healthier futures.

As an integrative counsellor, Hannah tailors her approach to each client’s needs, drawing from various therapeutic methods to provide effective and compassionate support. Her openness about her experiences allows her to bring a relatable and down-to-earth approach to her work.

Hannah’s warm and friendly manner will help you feel at ease if you’re nervous about starting therapy. Her goal is to create a warm and supportive environment where you can explore challenges, rediscover your strengths, and move toward a more fulfilling life.
