Jessica is a qualified integrative counsellor with a passion for working with neurodiversity.  She has worked extensively with young people’s mental health for the majority of her career with her most recent role as Wellbeing Coach for her local college.

Jessica has also volunteered at a young person’s charity for two years where she has supported many vulnerable teens with counselling and coaching.  It was through these roles that Jessica became adept at noticing signs of neurodivergence and encouraged her clients to seek diagnosis which have all gone on to be confirmed at assessment.

Being able to relate on such a deep level with her ADHD clients left Jessica wondering about herself, and during the final year of her Psychotherapy degree, she finally received her own diagnosis.  She was surprised to feel not only a huge sense of relief but a sadness looking back at the many years of guilt, shame and ‘not feeling good enough’.

It has inspired her even further to support others who may be going through the same feelings after diagnosis.

Jessica recognises that supporting and managing neurodivergent people’s mental health requires flexibility and creativity as each individual has their own unique story to be respected and understood.  She works integratively with clients which means she gets to know you first before adapting the most beneficial approaches to help you.

Jessica has developed a deeper interest and understanding of addiction and is completely non-judgmental when exploring addictive behaviours with clients.  She has personal experiences of watching loved ones struggle and understands how difficult it can be to talk about, let alone try to change.

Shortly after her own diagnosis, Jessica encouraged her partner to explore his ADHD and ASD traits and sure enough, a few months later he was diagnosed with both Autism and ADHD.

Their large, blended family is home to an ADHD/ASD diagnosed teenager and three pre-teens with suspected Autism and ADHD awaiting assessments.  It is safe to say Jessica lives and breathes the neurodivergent life every single day!  Since their diagnoses, Jessica has developed many strategies to manage the challenges of living with ADHD which has improved the whole family’s wellbeing.

Jessica enjoys working with adults as much as teenagers now, both pre, during and after their diagnosis.

Jessica gets great satisfaction from helping families and partners who are struggling to communicate due to their neurodiversities.  She has successfully mediated when relationships were thought to be lost and families were in crisis.

In her spare time, Jessica is often found lost in audiobooks (although most are left unfinished!), stomping across the Devon countryside, engrossed in an Xbox game, or testing out new recipes for the family.
